It is literally a book of lists. Not so great for listening. Maybe I'll try again when I can get a physical copy.
I think this book imparts lots of wisdom but I didn’t realize when I got ahold of the audiobook format that it was 101 lists. I wish this had been written in more narrative style instead of as lists. The listening experience became repetitive by speaking off numbered lists each “essay” it was hard to remember what the list was even describing. I don’t recommend the audiobook. Likely the printed version would be more pleasant to read but just know you’re getting into “101 lists.”

One and a half essays and a newspaper article about the author later I came to the conclusion that I don't want to waste my time with superficial, Instagram-post-like, generic and shallow self-optimization bullshit. I'd rather read something concrete and actually helpful from a qualified professional, than this, which feels too much like wanna-be-coach hustle-culture pseudo-self-help advice to me. Just not for me.
Could take some, could leave some. Lots of great stuff that I say to clients pretty often… a little repetitive but definitely a great starting point if you wanna start reflecting on your relationships, emotional reactivity, or confidence!

This book is on every must read list. It is, however, extremely monotonous. Every essay seemed to blend together, making it impossible to cite any significant points. The narrator adds to the monotony with a flat tone made more for background noise. I found myself tuning out from the book most of the time.
I also realized the author has no experience in psychology, so I would take her words as inspirational more than for help.

The ideas in the book do make you think about things differently, however I found some of the content repetitive. While it was helpful to hear some things more than once, it became a bit monotonous. The author talks about aspects of psychology, religion, philosophy, etc… to challenge ideas and norms which I enjoyed. Some of the lists could get repetitive as well, but overall there are some great ideas in the book and some quotes I’d like to keep you remind me of important things. It was also insightful thoughts into how we view and think about ourselves and others.
