Dark romance is not my thing, but I wanted to give something outside my comfort zone. 

The story was really predictable. The plot twists could be seen so many miles before they happened, but I did want to stick around and find out if I was right.

I can’t believe I finished this tbh. I speed read most of it out of morbid fascination. Don’t recommend. There is no plot, only dubious spice and the worst character development known to man

🌶️ level: 🌶️🌶️🌶️/3 

This is a really fucked up retelling of Peter Pan set in modern times. Hook is a drug lord hell bent on corrupting Peter's only daughter Wendy. Why does he hate Peter so much you may wonder? Well it turns out Peter killed Hook's parents. Listen. This book is not for the faint of heart. When I say 🚨trigger warning🚨 for violence I mean...I had to put the book down at one point and walk away. To be fair, the violence made sense given the plot of the book, but the author lets you know exactly how ruthless Hook is. Hook is so blinded by his hatred that he almost seems irredeemable in the beginning. I would say he's past morally gray and just straight up evil in the beginning, but is probably more morally gray by the end....a very dark gray. As the story unfolds, you know exactly why he's so focused on his revenge. Wendy isn't always the sweet little ray of sunshine everyone thinks she is either, so they kinda balance each other out.  I may need to read some upbeat books before I'm ready for the next book in this series.
