basically it’s a book about mad men but like legit lol so yeah very gory, read trigger warnings !!
but it’s actually really good like if you over look all the death and um blood parts… the story is good! the writing is good ,it was interesting and a good story, also there were only minor misogynistic comments which wohooo that’s a win for me thank you very much and yeah

A dark contemporary romance using elements of Peter Pan woven into the story. It was a quick read. I found myself more excited about finding all the Easter eggs than the plot itself. It was pretty unbelievable and leaned heavily on both MC’s trauma to define them. The plot was fine, but left a lot of holes that could have been easily addressed and tied up.  The dialogue was really repetitive and a lot of discussions that could have built on the characters took place off page.

Definitely check your trigger warnings on this one.

This was the first dark romance I’ve read and I liked it! It was a bit too Insta-love for my taste but the spicy scenes were bang on. Fast-paced & hot, if you’re looking to take a step into this genre, this book is the one to start with. Definitely check out the content warnings before reading though, this book can be gory and stabby at times, which will not be for everyone.

Though the smut was a 5/5, the storyline was a bit predictable. The relationship between the male (James) and female (Wendy) protagonists was boring. The female is abused by her lover, said lover apologizes (sort of), and the couple lives happily ever after. People die, the main characters bond over their shared issues, and all is good by the end of the novel. Oh! And don’t forget about the baby that the female protagonist pops out at the end.
