4.5 stars. Each book in this series continue to get better. The only thing that keeps Fractured from being 5-Star for me is one immensely glaring bit of predictability -- something so blatantly obvious to the reader that it makes you say "C'mon...there's no way the characters in the book would have missed that."

Otherwise, this book was fantastic. Good character development, good action, and a couple of nice plot twists that I wasn't expecting. Can't wait for book #5 to come out in audio.

More nonstop action

So freaking GOOD! Exhausting and relentless, the action never stopped! I am flying through this series. I just can’t put it down. Love it!

I stopped reading this book about half way through because I was kind of getting bored with it. I came back to it and remembered why I read the first three. it definitely picked up towards the end and the action was really intense. I knew there had to be a 5th book about80% of the way through. There was no way the author was going to wrap up all those loose ends in such a short time.

One of the things I really like about this series is that nothing goes right. This one was a little long but very enjoyable.

This book was better than I thought it was going to be. There was a sense of, for lack of a better term, epicness happening throughout. There was a good blend of action (obviously), political scheming, love, war, and just a true feeling that the shittiest day of your life can only get worse.

I like a lot of what happened in this book, but at the same time, hated some of it. There was one part, where something really bad happened to the main character. It was a prominent feature for a lot of the book that just dragged, and I hated to read it. I found myself skipping pages at a time.

But, the writing and plot was much better here. I definitely feel like more story is just around the corner in the last 2 books. I just hope some of these resolutions are fully fleshed out by the end.

Ya know, what I think I like most about these books as they continue to grow on me is the fact that they focus on the characters and their situation, and not "oh my god zombies" all the time. I think that's what makes them better than they should be.

IT GETS BETTER! D.J. Molles wrote 3 books of mind-numbingly horrifying descriptive language and cardboard action to get to The Remaining: Fractured! And holy shit! HO-LEE SHIT does the action pick up! The characters are still cardboard, even in their arcs, but SO much shit goes down in this book! The writing has gotten better, but that's not why I'm giving it 4 stars. So much happens in this book, it's the best of the series so far. And now I have to wait for the 5th book to be written?!?

Anyway, this is the book where Molles brings it all together. This is the book you've been waiting for. Shit goes down in Camp Tyder and other places. People have to make difficult decisions. Some people break, you may be able to see it coming, but oh man do events hit hard and fast!
