didn’t like it. i liked devin, in the kinda way i’ve always liked sweet, soft spoken characters. read: love interests. but i was even kinda tired of em by the end.
it hurts me to say it, but super cringy writing. i usually die by “i am cringe but i am free” but it was so much it made it so i didn’t even want to finish it. and the writing is just not good 😭 “he smiled,” “e raised an eyebrow,” “she rolled her eyes.” so much telling and so little showing. and it was a unique premise with what could have been an amazing plot twist if the writing didn’t make everything so damn predictable.
main character is INSUFFERABLE and he *technically* has character development but it’s not well done and doesn’t seem genuine. dude can’t make a responsible, thoughtful, or good-in-any-way decision to save his LIFE. i LOVE characters with flaws but it’s just as important to give your character some real good traits, at least by the end, as it is to give them some bad, unless the character’s incurable insufferability is whole point of the story (think: we need to talk about kevin), and this is just not one of those stories.

Pretty adorable! I loved the pronoun fluidity and search for finding the right ones.
