Sick Boys.. okay so first off, this is smut with a side of plot. if you're a heavy dark smut reader you'll eat this up, but if your just a regular dark romance reader I would definitely check triggers before proceeding and keep in mind the plot is background noise. also, shout out to the author for spicing things up, I had no idea what snowballing was until the sick boys!
now to get into the review! this book really fell short for me (I went in with high hopes because of the rating/reviews) aside from the amazing sex scenes you can tell the author didn't really have the plot figured out.. the book starts with time jumps that just kind of disappear throughout the story and they're almost always unnecessary in my opinion. I think the author had a strong storyline, but they just didn't execute it well which ultimately left me with questions and wanting more loose ends to be tied up. for 500+ pages I feel like a few less sex scenes could've allowed us to get a better understanding of the skull and serpent society, the mafia ties and the sick boys relationship with the fmc's sister. this book really could've been iconic with just a little more plot, I honestly would've read a much longer book if the author followed through with any off the added details/plot points (Felix and his mom for example) but it was an easy read and truthfully I loved the sick boys (Felix especially). the dynamic made for a pretty good reverse harem so that alone solidified my rating.
the real questions are.. did I enjoy the book? yes. did I enjoy the smut? hell yeah. do I recommend it? if you like the dark sexy stuff with plot as an afterthought, definitely.

Well... I wasn't prepared for all of that. There's nothing like stumbling into a book scene and quickly figuring out where your limits would be in real life. Lol. Jostling, but overall, I didn't mind the plot. I think it was way too amped up from the beginning, and the reveal wasn't as dramatic as I thought it was going to be.

With all the hype I had high hopes and looking forward to read this one. It was a so so read. I’m so stressed with Pen, like she wants to investigate but everytime she saw a name or a clue she keeps on accusing someone. Just dig in more before you blame someone. How could she be with someone who constantly compares or mentions their sister with yourself? The only good thing is the smut scenes. Packed with actions too.
Violent sexual assault at knifepoint within first 30 pages between MCs. Not in TWs.
I’m so tired of authors, putting dub con when it’s clearly nonconsensual. Like put it in the trigger warnings correctly.
Also, the premise of this book is idiotic.
