Red letter edition. Love that.

Just to be clear here I am reading the translation and the audio reading of it, and not the Bible itself or as a whole. I did a reason to buy from a year plan through you version and finished in about seven and a half months as I got ahead a lot during summer break. I'm the leader of this one was very dry, and it might be the fault of and the excessive amounts of cross references that were lumped in with the footnotes but the translation wasn't my favorite and a lot of familiar verses sounded odd. I had heard in my small group that this was an update to the Holman Bible translation and that it was touting itself as a more accurate word for word translation that was also very readable. it's not bad in that regard but I don't like it as well as the ESV or even the NASB. This is my third year in a row going through the whole Bible and my third translation, not sure which one I'm tackling next, but I think I'm going to do some smaller studies for the remainder of this calendar year.

I love this Bible. Firstly, it's stunning! I love the colors and design. I like the CSB translation. Like the SRT Bible, it has a One Year Bible plan, a Concordance, color maps and charts, and a readable (8pt) font. I thought the font would be too small at first, but thanks to the style of the font, it’s easy to read despite its smallness.

One of the draws to this Bible is in the name: it’s single-columned and designed for notetaking, with wide (1.75 inch) lined margins. These are great for notes, Bible study, quotes and more! I love having a wide margin for Bible journaling, but this is the 1st wide-margined Bible I've had that had lines. I liked how they helped me keep my lettering straight, and overall they didn't distract the art portion of the journaling for me.

The only issue I had was the thinness of the pages-- when water coloring, they ripped! Twice!! As a Bible journaler, that made me wary of using it again for any art purposes.

Overall, it’s a good Bible– great for note-taking, sermon-writing, Bible study, and more. Though honestly, I would not recommend for Bible journaling, unless you do not plan on paint/watercolor. I’ll keep using it, but will tread lightly with my creative endeavors. If I was purchasing a new journaling Bible, I’d want one with thicker, more sustainable pages, but overall, it’s a great Bible I’d recommend for all the other things!

I received a copy of this Bible from B&H/Lifeway Bloggers in exchange for an honest review.

The best book in the world. Life changing. If reading for the first time, start in the New Testament and with the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John). Find Christians to talk to about it.

There's no question about my rating, but this is the first time I read through the Old and New Testaments concurrently. I was able to better see connections and the almost cyclical nature of humanity to evoke God's wrath (especially in the OT), in contrast to Revelationand end times prophecy. My goal was to reread the entirety of the Bible over the course of 2021, but have just finished it 55 days early...so clearly the concurrent method works well for me!

Maybe the 9th or 10th year of reading through the entire Bible.
