There are a couple of things that can be said about my experience of this story. First, the summary quickly snagged my attention, as the story plays on several of my favorite tropes. Second, despite an impeding shift at work, I stayed up late to finish reading this book in one sitting. So overall I enjoyed reading the book; however, my satisfaction with the story isn't as high as I was hoping it would be.

The story itself is a good premise but the action and events feel rushed. It feels as if one minute Jackson is fighting his attraction to Mandy, and the next he's being a bit naughty. There's not a lot of character development, beyond what is stated clearly in the blurb--because of this, I wasn't too deeply invested in the HEA. The HEA itself felt stereotypical and a bit too easy.

Additionally, some of the parts of the story simply rang a sour note for me. Weight loss can be a touchy subject and I admire the author for tackling it, but there were a few instances that simply left me feeling a bit discontented
(like when, after asking Jackson what he'd do if she gained the weight back, the hero brushes the concern aside by stating simply that she wouldn't. I understand his intention here was to support her in her efforts to stay fit and maintain the lifestyle she worked for and clearly wants, but it didn't quite hit the right mark for me)
.

All in all this book left me with mixed feelings.
