First, I absolutely love Rome and Damien. They were incredible well thought out characters and the contrast of personalities and backgrounds made them coming together so interesting to read about. This is definitely just a fantasy world we’re everything great happens and nothing bad happens and everyone lives happily ever after - but that’s good/okay/we deserve it as queer people.

Noted after second reread: I love the amount of swearing in this book I feel so seen. Fuck yes.
Only reason I would rate this one a little lower than the others is the baby storyline. I actually think it’s so sweet and perfect for their characters so I don’t mind reading it at all, but adopting a child as a teenager? Ahhh that I just so so unrealistic I wish they were a little older. But still loved it and seeing how they both respond to adoption in relation to their own experiences is so cute.

Every addition to this series is wonderful. I thought I couldn’t love this new pairing as much as I love the characters of the original stories, but I was wrong. This was a lovely, easy read — I finished it in a day. There are moments that challenge and cause an emotional reaction, but for the most part, it’s a beautiful story of two boys falling in love while learning to love themselves. I’m looking forward to the series continuation.

I read this book in one sitting and am already excited to reread it. I read the first two books over the summer, and I’m blown away with how much better this book was. I loved both books in the series, but this book was just so much better and amazing. Massey’s writing definitely has grown, and it’s so clear in the themes of this book and the characters. I found the first two books a little cringey sometimes, and a little unrealistic or cliche. I didn’t feel like this at all. Damien and Rome are two really great characters and I loved the descriptions of both of them. I sort of wish we got more from the side characters, but I get that Massey was trying to put all their focus on the themes of the book I loved this book so much.
