"Lucifer was an angel once. That's what Damien thinks the first time he sees Patrick Roman"

This one really did me in. Big gruff man learning to feel his feelings and let other people is in so good and Rome was the perfect version of the trope. Damien is a sweet baby and I would truly die for both of them. Every character on the team is a darling angel, and I need a book about Kaner and Olly please! I will read this series for as long as E.L. Massey is putting them out.

It's honestly a surprise that I liked this as much as I did, given the tropes that it eventually contained are practically all No Thank Yous for me, so I'm going to chock it up to being entirely Massey's very bingeable writing style and excellent characters for not only carrying me through the final pages but actually enjoying myself along the way!

05/12/2024: Upped this to 5-star. This has just stuck with me since I first read it and has been taunting me these last few weeks until I re-borrowed this from the library just to re-read my favorite passages and ended up re-reading the whole thing. And those epilogues. SO CUTE.

A good book for anyone looking for a low-stakes "enemies to lovers" with a happy ending. Very comforting and sweet.
