We all have a past. Some are proud. Some are sad. Others are filled with regret, shame, and disgust. Some have joy but sadly, Grace falls under the regret, shame, pain, sad and disgust categories. She can't move on because no one will let her...Or so she says.

Troubled and trying too change, Grace has morphed into a new person. Or was she just pretending as GeeGee? Finding who you are is difficult, but even harder when everyone points out who you were. Not even who you were, but past actions that other use to define you. This seriously hit home for me.

The most powerful part of this story is when Grace explains the very true (and I'm guilty of doing this too- with every Powerball ticket i buy). She gives an incredible speech, well it's a conversation really, about living the dream. It's hopeful and smile inducing until she brings it back around. I was tempted to quote it, but I think it means more as a vital part of those feelings.

Grace is complicated, as most people are, but she believes the opposite of Chris. Her dream man, hero and the star of her lustful fantasies is a good guy. He is perfect and so too good for her.

It is angst. Full of hope. You cringe at the real reactions that the author makes you face. The writing is such th hat I feel apart of the Black Hawk crew. I think you might too. Dibs on the next Black Hawk story. While there are several people who need to get their acts straight, Sebastian is next on the list. Squee!

Ughhh. So disappointed. I really loved the first book in this series and was excited to read the rest of them. But damn... this book was not even close to the first one.

It had a promising start with Chris and Grace meeting under false identities only later to meet each other as their new step siblings. I liked the attraction they felt when they first met. Chris was amazingly a good guy. I liked the fact that they tried to denied their attraction for a long time. However, I was expecting the forbidden element surrounding their relationship because they were step siblings. Turns out, it wasn’t even a factor. I also didn’t like that too much attention was spent on Grace’s ‘past’. Honestly why did she solely blame herself when the other boys were also responsible? Besides that incident in the basement, she didn’t have any reason to define herself as a slut. And while she was slut shaming herself, did she even stop to realize that Bailey actually stripped for a living intentionally? How did she complain in front of Bailey basically without calling her a slut too?

Plus what was the need to add Olivia’s lies about being pregnant with Chris’s child on top of other drama? It felt like too much drama in a short time. Plus Chris’s problems with his dad. Too much issues explored together and not much development. Honestly I liked the connection between Chris and Grace but it kinda fizzled out towards the end.
I hope the next book is not as disappointing as this.

"I'm not more vulnerable for loving him. I'm stronger."

After the first book, I thought this one will be sad as sh*t too, and although it was kinda sad it felt like a breath of fresh air. I even laughed at some parts.
Chris was too perfect to be real, that's why he exist just in books and that's why I should stop reading romance books 'cause I have way too high expectations in real life from boys. Anyway, of course I'll never stop reading them 'cause they are way too addictive. This book was addictive too, I literally couldn't put it down.
I got attached to the characters and I love them so much and I'm so happy I found out about this series and I can't wait to read the next books.
