SO SO GOOD!!!! I wasnt sure how I felt about this one at first, I dont generally prefer women who shame themselves and feel so low like that based on their past. But I really ended up loving this book. Chris was the perfect gentleman, and the ending was perfection!
"What do you eat?"
"The hearts of lovesick men, mostly"
Alright, so I was pretty much hooked from the start when she meets Chris and is talking about her smut novels. So relatable hahah! I really liked Rushing In and all the slut-shaming that was in this book. It is funny, but also really really sad. I have so much to say on this subject that I think I'll just not say anything.
I LOVED the friendships in this book. Friendships are something to envy and are how friends should treat each other without a doubt. I find a lot of books miss the friendship boat because they are so focused on romantic relationships or trying to make the book relatable for some readers. But I think strong friend groups are so important and should not be overlooked. I love that about this book and was easily my favorite part about it.
Theres a lot of great humor in this like Because Slutty McSlutterson sluts a lot. and spicy moments in there too. Overall I really like this story, and the step sibling thing is not too emphasized.
I know this is a world that says girls should smile, but I say fuck them. It’s not my job to make other people comfortable. When I want to smile, I smile. When I don’t, I don’t.

Lexi Ryan is one of my all time favorite authors, and this book is a great example as to why. She has the amazing ability to write broken individuals with so much emotional depth, and then use their experiences to make them whole again. She did it in the New Hope (Love Unbound) series, and in the Hear and Now series, and she is doing it with the Blackhawk Boys series as well. In this book, Grace has made some bad choices, starting at an age where she really wasn't accountable for her actions, and those older than her took great advantage of her naivety and desire for attention. Chris was her hero when she was 14, and he's never stopped being her ideal man, so it comes as more than a shock to find out he's going to be her new stepbrother. When her past comes back to haunt her, she isn't sure if Chris is just the nice guy that tries to make the best of everything, or if she even really deserves someone like him to love her. Her heartache was so raw, so real, that it chokes you up while you're reading it. So was his for that matter, especially as he faces his own challenges in the book. Lexi's characters are relatable. You either know someone like them, or you are them. And only Lexi can give you a resolution that wraps it all together so nicely that you are disappointed when the story ends. While book 3 is Sebastian's story, and Sebastian really needs to get lucky being that he was odd man out in books 1 & 2, I am hoping to see Mason and Bailey get a HEA in book 3 as well. Those characters have become near and dear to my heart as the books center around other main characters. I am impatiently waiting for book 3, and can't wait to find out what happens next.
"I'm not more vulnerable for loving him. I'm stronger."
After the first book, I thought this one will be sad as sh*t too, and although it was kinda sad it felt like a breath of fresh air. I even laughed at some parts.
Chris was too perfect to be real, that's why he exist just in books and that's why I should stop reading romance books 'cause I have way too high expectations in real life from boys. Anyway, of course I'll never stop reading them 'cause they are way too addictive. This book was addictive too, I literally couldn't put it down.
I got attached to the characters and I love them so much and I'm so happy I found out about this series and I can't wait to read the next books.

I usually love Lexi Ryan's book but I just did not enjoy this one at all. I was okay with the storyline but I found the characters to be annoying and unintersting. I only read about 60% of this book.
