The whole book was quite unbelievable, which is generally fine!, but the very ending resolution was too much for me. Otherwise it would have been 4 stars!!

This is probably the best thriller I’ve read in 2025, but that isn’t saying much because I still haven’t found a great one. The plot of this book also felt like one I’ve read before - most notably in one VERY popular recent thriller.
The beginning of the story was way too slow of a build. Once the POV switched to Violet, the plot picked up quite a bit and I became more interested. There are ZERO likable characters in this - except for maybe the small child.
There were a lot of plot conveniences and quite a bit of suspension of belief you have to accept in order to really enjoy this story. As a whole, though there are portions of the story that were somewhat gripping, this was just fine.
Also, why did this author find every possible way to sneak a mention of Taylor Swift into the story? I love TS, but it served absolutely no purpose to the plot and got really weird after a dozen mentions.
