Another good book from Lisa Jewell. Well written and kept my interest all the way through.

I loved this book. Written so well, it just flowed from page to page. A beautiful story that was sad but also uplifting.

If I had to rate all of Lisa Jewell's books I've read to date, this is easily my favorite. It's so different from any of her other novels. Not only is this mysterious and captivating like her other works, but this is poignant, touching, and it moved me to tears numerous times. This is beautifully written and deserves a lot more attention. If you liked The Family Upstairs, this had a similar vibe, but much better in my opinion. This is a lot different than my typical reads, but sometimes a slow burn mystery that punches me in the feels is just what I need.

I have been slowly reading my way through all of Jewell's books and I can honestly say this one has been my least favorite. I don't know what went south for me in regard to this novel but I was just bored and uninterested.

I did really enjoy the dual timelines that were used to bring the story together. I did also think that Melody had good character development! I was just bored. No twists or turns, no dramatic pause, it was just okay. But I will say, this isn't really a mystery or a thriller. I would say it could be more contemporary with mystery elements. If I would have double checked that myself, I may have gone into this differently!
