In this third installment of Katie and Collin’s story they are forced to leave Scotland and sail to the Colonies. At first I didn’t like this book and had a hard time returning to pick it up. The format of the narration changed from the first two with a new perspective being introduced. I don’t like when authors do that but I got used to it. The journeys on the ships were depressing and long. But once the characters made it to the New World the story became more interesting and less dreary again. This novel was not much of a romance, especially in comparison to the first one, but it was good historical fiction. The first book was definitely my favorite but overall the series was well done and quite the sweeping adventure!

A sweet wrap up to a fabulous trilogy! This story takes us along with Collin, his wife Katherine (white has the gift of sight and knowing what is to come in the future) and his twin Ian to England, the colonies in America, and Nova Scotia. I love all the Scottish history we get in these stories.
I really took a liking to Ian in this one! There were certain situations that they so had to endure but did it really well.
