Beautifully written and well done. I love this author’s storytelling writing style. He fluidly fleshed out each character in their own unique way, giving them an intricate story with deep emotional connections to their choices. His commentary on today’s society was spot on, and he ended it with hope and redemption for the future. It was a tad long, but well worth the read.
The Nix seems to be one of the books os the year. Praise has been heaped upon it like crazy. I found the story interesting enough to stay with but would not consider it a favorite even in my books read up to this point in the 20 or so books I've completed. High expectations may have hurt it for me. Nonetheless, it's a good one and I think most people will find it satisfying. My true rating is 3 1/2.

This book had a lot going on, I don't know if I have fully processed it. Difficult if this is the tale as it happened or the tale has it is being told, if the book is read that sentence makes sense. I might like or dislike this book, need more time to process, so middle of the road 3 stars.

I listened to the audiobook version, it was easy to listen to and the actor did the voices really well. I thought the actor’s take on Laura Potsdam was hilarious.

I liked the overall story and how they overlapped for each character. However, for the length of the book, there was just too much description of unimportant details. Specific descriptions of books on a shelf or a like multiple page rant of a character that I just did not care about. I never skip lines in a book, but I absolutely had to for this one. Also, being someone who plays video games and specifically online RPGs like the one described in the book, I felt the depiction of that was a bit inaccurate and unrealistic which always bothers me in other books as well and takes me out of it a little. Otherwise, it was a good story of self-reflection, regret and forgiveness.
Moderate: Adult/minor relationship, Police brutality, Stalking, Abandonment
Minor: Violence
I did not like the story here, it was super complicated and not well woven together and the many threads were barely wrapped up by the end. It’s also super long, so I would not recommend this lol. I will give credit to the author for being a good writer but like where did this idea come from? And who signed off on it?
