a clever and engaging story. Listening to it felt like I was hearing a movie script as the descriptions are vivid complete and complex. There are many intertwining stories and characters- some seem for comic relief and others are recurring. Ties up a little too nearly at the end.
Definitely liked all the Chicago-ness. It’s interesting to read now in 2025 and reflect on the 1968 situation in Chicago and the description of the politicians and the police and the protesters and realize how little has changed or how 1968 was a prelude to now and the politics and politicians we have.
It is a long book and could drag at times but overall similar to how I felt about Wellness his insights are sharp. The story is funny and satirical.
