In case you didn't know, this book is a romance novel. Expect plenty of sex scenes.

I had a hard time putting this book down. Something about it drew me in. I think that the romance was realistic and believable, and that is a huge positive for any romance book that I read. I'm not into the love at first sight for absolutely no reason, and I don't feel that Witch Fire is like that at all. I was interested in each of the main characters and their pasts, but I have to say they weren't very deep. I got a feel for who they were as people, so they were well fleshed out, but they were pretty normal and basic as far as characters go. Usually, a book that I can't put down is a solid four stars, but the characters mixed with the plot knocked this one down a bit. The plot exists, but takes a back seat to the romance, as is to be expected. My problem is that the bad guy is extremely stereotypical and repetitive. He feels like the generic cardboard cutout evil overlord in his lair. There is little sense of danger except for the three action scenes in the novel, and that is my main issue. I never felt like our characters were in danger of being discovered, and the bad guys came off as too weak. Less sitting around the house fornicating and more run ins with the baddies would have been welcome. The romance itself was steamy, and interesting at first. Eventually, I started skipping the love scenes. I knew they would take up plenty of pages, I knew the outcome, and I started to lose interest. In the beginning the romance served the purpose of furthering their relationship, at the end it felt thrown in to take up space. I did enjoy the elemental aspect and enjoyed watching Mira learn to control her powers, but in the end there is nothing special here. Overall, Witch Fire is a quick, easy, fun romance with a little danger and magic thrown in that could have been improved with a little more action and danger.

In this world, witches each have power focused on an element — air, water, fire, earth. A group of evil witches want to kidnap and consume the power of witches in order to open portals and raise demons. Jack is sent to protect Mira, who doesn’t know she is a witch, and sparks ensue. Very fun and sexy read. I will be looking for the sequels!

For some reason it took me forever to finish this one... I love her Dark Magick series, which is why I picked this one out of my TBR stack. I didn't think it was as good. Might be because it is one of her earlier works, or maybe I just didn't like the witch storyline as much as the fae storyline of her other series. Not sure. Not a bad read, just not as fantastic as I know she can write. I am going to try the second book in the series, sometimes the first book is blah for me and then the second book snares my interest and keeps me reading the series... like JR Wards's BDB series. First book was okay for me and then I picked up the second book and was hooked. We'll see.... This one seemed slooooowwwww, lots of sex and then more slooooowwwww. Hopefully the next one gets better.

It was ok, reminded me of an old Mills and Boon. The love scenes were hot, but the rest was predictable.

Just felt like I had read it all before!

Utterly delicious and I'm pissed I let it sit on my shelf for two years. Strong leads and very well written. I was a little meh over the antagonist, but whatever. The hero and heroine were hot.

So, sometimes when you go to the 'used books' section of your local thrift store, you start grabbing books like a mad person because some are only a dollar or twenty-five cents. Yes, you read correctly. That day was a wonderful day for me...not so much for my wallet, though.

Basically, this book took me back to my younger years when I was obsessed with the hit T.V. show, Charmed. Witch Fire was originally published back in 2007, many things have changed, (i.e. technology,) but overall, I enjoyed it quite a lot. That's why this original book is receiving a 3.5/5 from me.

I loved how all of the elements, (earth, air, fire, water) were used in this book; each witch has an element, which is their power or magick. Mira, the main character, has the element of air.

She is one of the strongest and rarest air witches out there. And of course, what is an air witch without her fire witch?

That's where things get a little sexy and steamy when Jack McAllister is added to the equation. I mean, the opening like to this story is:

"He looked like and seemed like salvation."

I mean, after getting out of a messy divorce with your ex, telling yourself you'll stay away from men for a while... having that thought the very first time you see the fire witch, is definitely a big intro to this heated relationship between Mira and Jack.

Of course, between all of this sexual tension, there is bad out there in the witch world and is after the rarest air witch out there, guess who? Long story short, there is a very, very bad dude, a warlock, after element witches to basically suck the magic out of the witches, summon a demon, for said evil warlock needs. Dude's dying, he wants to live longer, but there are more witches, strong witches living in the Coven, who will stop at nothing to defeat this evil. As soon as you start reading, you can't stop. You get sucked into the plot.

Witch Fire is a thrilling, sexy, paranormal, magical, and fun quick read. You get lost in the fire and you happily get burned.

This was a cute book. Lot of sex though which wasn't bad but got kinda boring. Typical weak female has to have male protect her. and even though she can kick butt herself she still ends up having to be saved. Nice read though. If the author was going to use the Wiccan tenets/ beliefs and apply a number tho I think she should have listed them in the front of the book.

I enjoyed reading this book and I really liked the story line, but it would have been better if there had been more plot and less sex. I found this book on amazon and was looking for a good story about witches, only to find that it was in the romance section and wasn't quite what i was expecting. I did like the main characters and the types of magic that they hold. That part of the story was very good. Not my favorite book ever, yet still worth the read if you're looking for a good, steamy, romance/fantasy novel.
