I just couldn't connect with the characters or the story. In short it was pretty darn boring!!!
Falls into the romance end of the urban fantasy spectrum; this is a pretty typical story of the type. Mira Hoskins is just after divorcing her husband, which has left her with some issues, she finds herself handcuffed to a bed, finding herself with powers beyond her belief, powers that need control and Jack McAllister is the man to help her control them.
It has some very cheesy moments but is an good but not a great read. Most of the elements are pretty predictable but I just couldn't put it down when I was reading it.

Sex negative to the point of prudishness and chock full of emotional manipulation and dominance = personality (news flash: it doesn’t).
I enjoyed this book. But only gave it 3 stars as I found it seemed to stop in places and felt like a chore to read occasionally.
While some parts of the book had me flipping page after page to see what would happen in the plot.... the majority of the actual literature of the book was cheesy and slightly awkward.
While yes, okay, no one reads these books for the literature, but for the /sex/, this book was... way too much sex. So much. There was like... no element of imagination or teasing. Just... sex sex sex sex. So, if you like that, then this would be a good read.
I, on the other hand, would have liked more character development, plot development, and just... more everything except sex. Even though in the end, I did get into the plot, the beginning was extremely difficult to read. Mira's thought process and the character dialogue was cheesy and difficult to read. And due to lack of character development, I could not understand why Jack liked Mira so (besides their powers matching well). He kept calling her smart and intelligent, but I didn't feel like she reflected that.
In general, this was a fast read, lots of smut, some nice action near the end... that's about it.
