I hated the ending.
I was hoping the dad was alive
overall I enjoyed the book. It was interesting to learn that even tho he was “non verbal” he could communicate.

I ended up really enjoying this book and will think about it for a long time. Has kind of a John Green-type of mystery + psychology vibe, but ends up being serious life lessons and tackles ableism and racism in a really human way.

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

☁️ Wow! I can’t even begin to describe how impressed I am with Angie Kim’s writing. This is only her second novel, but she knows how to bring her own colors to words.

☁️ I was not expecting such a profound and life-changing novel when I picked up this book. From the blurb, I thought this would be about a man’s disappearance and his family’s journey as they look for him and try to untangle what happened. But you will find a book that concerns race, language, the ability of speaking, and most importantly, makes you think about the true meaning of happiness.

☁️There are some loose ends, but I think the story would lose its charm if we weren’t left wondering why some events came about the way they did.
