4.0

As with most anthologies, this had some gems and some forgettable stories. I skipped over the two by known abuser Matthew McFarland and not counting the 0's for those, the average came to 4 stars. The book as has a lot of fighting and gore, though it's never gratuitous and is fitting for the Werewolf: the Forsaken theme. Like the other reviewer has said you probably won't enjoy if you don't know the game.

Individual ratings:

Legacy 3/5

I like how it involves the Predator Kings (aka my fave tribe) heavily, though it feels too actual play-y. Don't just describe someone as "Bone Shadow".

First Hunt, Last Hunt 4/5

I liked the writing, plus it was good to see representation of wolves who weren't super ripped sports types before the First Change. We stan a weeb Irraka.

Confluence 3.25/5

Nothing special but decent.

One Vengeance 5/5

WOW. I love this one, especially the spirit's perspective and how it tries to play the victim. Werewolf's one of the CofD gamelines that's more horror than urban fantasy at its core (compared to say, Mage), this is a good example of it.

Last Rites 5/5

Another spirit-focused one that I loved.

The Worst Kind of Enemy 4/5

Nice style, nice plot.

The Wolf Must Hunt 4/5

It's mostly forgettable but gets an extra star for the beach party echoing a CofD game I played.
