This really is an adorable fantasy for the 10 - 13 year olds. It's funny, sweet and just downright fun.

Cute and hilarious. A great, light-hearted middle-grade read. Also, I love the cover!

Favorite bits:

“Chapter 3: A Princess Ought to Be Fearless. (That’s just crazy: the only people who are fearless are people who have no imagination.)”

“‘All right,’ she said, ‘how do we do this?’
The frog rolled his eyes, which is not a pretty sight in a frog.
‘Well, it seems to me that either the lips gotta come down to the frog, or the frog’s gotta come up to the lips.’”

I love taking a brief break from my serious books to read something fun and light hearted. This book is intended for young readers or in my case, one who never grew up. A fun if unoriginal twist on the frog prince fairy tale. I wish the characters had more depth and that justice was met at the end.

This is a darling story about a princess that is turned into a frog when she kisses the frog to set the prince free and her adventures along the way to becoming human again.

Unless it's Kate Middleton or Robert Munsch's [b:The Paperbag Princess|549408|The Paperbag Princess (Story Corner S.)|Robert Munsch|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1175715301s/549408.jpg|844184], I'm not that interested.

Any subtle hints of feminist thinking were negated in the end.
These things being said, I still think VVV is a terrific writer.

i read frogged for my children's literature class. it actually hooked me in the beginning because i wasn't expecting harry's trick, but i started to lose interest during imogene's time with the acting troupe, which was pretty much most of the story. i wish the author hadn't written that terrible ending with louella and ned since the latter had treated louella like dirt for the entire book.

pretty lackluster story for an interesting concept. i kept waiting for something bigger to happen, but nope! the entire story is just about ned's terrible play.
