I listened to the audiobook prior and wanted to check out the graphic novel adaptation.  I will say that I preferred the audiobook because I felt that it had better descriptions and captured emotions better than the illustrations in this book.  It's still a moving and compelling story, but if choosing to read this story for the first time, I would go for the original or an audio version.

I haven't (yet) read the original book, so can't comment on the adaption, but I really enjoyed this. The story is brilliant and the artwork is amazing. My only criticism is that it was hard for me to remember who was who  for many of the side characters in the village.

Lauren is a really brilliant strong female character. For me, although the world Butler painted is very bleak, this story also shows the best in humanity, community, acceptance and trust.

I am very much looking forward to the sequel!

(graphic novel, scifi) I’ve read the original, but this adaptation is a delight. The art is beautiful and brings the story even more to life.

This is my third time reading Parable of the Sower, and the first time reading it in the graphic novel version. I love John Jennings work. The colors, line work, and overall style are vibrant. The illustrations really make the story come alive.
