Leech is a post apocalyptic gothic body horror tale that follows a doctor from The Institute who arrives at a chateau to investigate the death of the previous doctor and care for the residents of the chateau who the doctor is more then familiar with.

This book was a 6/5 for me. It was original and compelling. All the characters were well thought out and the story is quite complex.

I don’t want to say much because I feel you must take the leap and experience this one. I did both the print and audiobooks and definitely recommend tandem reading this one.

It’s werid. It’s strange. It’s gothic. It’s horror. It’s Leech.

Can’t wait to see what this author does next.
challenging

DID NOT FINISH: 46%

This book suffered from a protagonist who's only interesting quality was his ability, and about 100 pages in the author just decided to have that ability fade away. Then he was just a guy, and not a particularly interesting one. I tried to keep going for about 50 more pages, but nothing was really happening. The story felt at a standstill, and I was struggling to go on. I just wasn't interested in this character.

Overall, I enjoyed this book. There were things that I would've preferred to happen, and the pacing wasn't really consistent. But I still really enjoyed it! An extra star is docked for leaving the dog at the end.

Brilliant. Told from a unique viewpoint with emotion and action, this story gripped me. I felt for the characters, and some I loathed! There were surprises I didn't expect. It is an amazing book.

TW: Rape, assault, abuse.
