This was a clever play on Orwell's 1984 that managed to be much more approachable than the classic because it's also heavily influenced by Alice in Wonderland, which gave it a somewhat whimsical/ surrealist feel (especially the ending, which I hated because I hate a "but they were dead all along" trope or anything similar to it; honestly, this would have been rounded up to 4 stars if it hadn't been for the ending).
