This review was originally posted on Star Crossed Reviews I received this book for free for a Blog Tour in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.Thank you to YA Reads for letting me be part of this tour. As soon as I read the synopsis for this book I knew I had to read it.

This book follows Isaak and Nadin. I found both of their stories really interesting. Isaak's world is much like my own but I found Nadin's world very bizarre. I'm not sure I could live with an earphone constantly attached to me watching my every move.

The level of detail in the descriptions of both Mars and Iamos make it feel like you're right there.

The book starts off slow and it's not until about 40% that you really get stuck in. I was considering DNFing this book but I'm really really glad I didn't. I'm really looking forward to the rest of the series.

I received a free copy of Fourth World by Lyssa Chiavari from the publisher in return for an honest review. The opinions expressed are my own.

Fourth World was such a fun, exhilarating read! Lyssa has created a world full of conspiracies, time travel, aliens, mysteries, space, archeology, super cool technology and fantastic characters all in an awesome setting! The setting = MARS! How cool is that?! And Lyssa does a great job depicting what life could be like on Mars.

Fourth World was a real page-turner and the story kept moving with no lulls. It's interesting and different. The world building is like no other. The characters are real with real life struggles you can relate to. And even better, there is no love triangle! YAY!

Isaak was my favorite character. He questions everything and wants to see the bigger picture. He questions authority, is smart, and at the same time a little naive.

Isaaks friends, Henry and Tamara, I enjoyed and I'm looking forward to more character growth from them in the next book.

Nadin was a little more annoying. She appeared to be a little foolish to me in the beginning but towards the end of the book, I liked her a bit more. She does try to help save her people and is willing to walk away from things, but I still don't like her and I can't put my finger on exactly why.

Nadin has a life partner, or rather a future life partner, who is an interesting fellow. As I sit here, I can't really remember much about him. He didn't really stick out that much to me. (This is where I kick myself for not taking better notes. I get too into books sometimes. #bookreaderproblems HA)

The book does have it's own language with a list of the words and definitions at the back of the book. Of course, I figured this out after I read the book. It made the reading a bit more difficult but I still enjoyed it.

The ending does have a cliff-hanger but it wrapped up the book nicely.

I'm giving this book 4 out of 5 stars. I do plan on adding the next book in the series, New World, set to come out September 2016, to my (ever growing) TBR list. It's a fun read and I highly recommend taking it for a spin!

Kinda basic overthrow-government-conspiracies-and-save-the-world plot but otherwise diverse YA SciFi with a bit of time travel and two a-spec protagonists (one demisexual and one still figuring it out, but probably sex-repulsed/touch-averse asexual).
Nice to read and not boring at all, but I wasn't wholly engaged.

Content warnings include: aphobia (both external and internalized), abuse of power/corrupt government, racism, unwanted kissing and hugging, disappearance of a parent, humanity-induced climate change, mentions of euthanasia and eugenics.

Beautiful diversity.

I love the diverse main cast. I love the casual portrayal of different sexualities. Bryn and Mama D are a particular favorite.

I look forward to following the rest of the adventure.

Seriously? Science fiction fantasy conspiracies and diversity are my jam. (here's hoping for a canon ace character in the future!)

I found this book a fun and interesting take on sci-fi set on Mars, and I enjoyed the time travel aspect of it. I thought it was well executed and the characters were likable. However, it has a distinctly ‘amateurish’ feel to the writing style that I can’t quite explain. In some points it seems to jump between plot conveniences instead of well establishing motivations.

This book has demisexual main character representation that I really enjoyed (where the label demisexual is actually used), and one of the other main characters is in the process of questioning their relationship to sexual attraction throughout the book. It doesn’t get resolved in this book, but I assume it does later in the series - I think it’s a good call for them to not have it resolved at top speed in one book, and have it take sever books instead, which is more realistic.

Overall a good YA novel with interesting sci-fi elements and a compelling original story and universe. I don’t think I will be finishing the series, but I enjoyed reading this nonetheless!

Really cool and enjoyable read with on-page demisexual as well as potential asexual rep.

Fourth World is a wonderful novel that bring space aces to life. Set on Mars, many years in the future, this novel explores issues we deal with today. The plot is compelling and the story keeps you hooked till the last page.

10/10 representation, very fun to read, I strongly recommend it.
