This wasn't badly written or anything, it just really wasn't for me - it tried to lean into the dark fairy tale vibe and for me it just fell short, possibly because of the short, sort of poetic nature of the novella.

Heavy fairy-tale vibes. Very dark. Nice, quick read that keeps you hooked from the start.
I love the foreshadowing of when Judith is almost persuaded to buy a book of fairytales with the moral at the end. Though the moral is left up to the reader's interpretation, it's still very much there.

The ending was cool but this was so so boring oh my god it was so short and I just wanted it to be over quicker

I have read Silvia Moreno-Garcia's novels, and they are dark. The setting is gothic, chilly and an atmosphere that is almost suffocating. This short story is not different. A girl, illicit affairs and a shapeshifting wolf, gives us a dark fairy tale vibe.

A well written, dark, short story.
