I liked the book but I felt that I was forcing myself to pick it up. I have high hopes for the other books in the series though.

I haven't reread or listened to the Harry Potter series since I finished it after book 7 came out. I saw the movies but that isn't the same. I regret waiting so long to re-enter this world but I think part of the enjoyment is that I have forgotten some of the details and just how good it really is. Rowling is brilliant and weaving in clues and telling and suspenseful and believable story. Harry Potter's world is unique and well fleshed out, making it easy to lose yourself in the telling and Jim Dale does a fantastic job with the audiobook. This is a wonderful start to a truly great book series.

Such a fun and weirdly inspiring book, that makes you reflect on childhood and carving your way through adolescence. Still was very readable despite no longer being a kid, and it was nice to notice what I remembered about reading this book for the first time compared to now—14 years later. This time, I’m excited to finally continue on with the series and go where I haven’t before.
