I enjoyed this book immensely. Emily and Wendell had an excellent dynamic with each other, the writing was well executed, and overall the story was just a lot of fun.
Emily was very clearly autism-coded, and I just really appreciated that aspect of her character as well.
Overall, I just truly enjoyed this story and it may be one if not the favorite of the books I've read in the past few years. I very rarely talk about the books I am reading to my family, however with this one I could barely restrain myself. This book appealed to me greatly.

This is a great adventure! Emily researches fairies. She goes to this small village to find an undocumented set of fairies. Emily is not good with people.  She's all about the authenticity of her research.  When her friend and work rival, Wendell shows up claiming to help, she is irritated. Unfortunately, she finds out fast that she indeed needs him. This is a fun research adventure with a slow burn romance.  I love that the book focuses on Emily's research. There is a small twist in the book.

This book omg amazing. Soft cozy academia fantasy with grumpy x sunshine and 'touch her you die' and fairies. Emily is also 100% autistic, I'm not sure if that's something the author has said and I've never seen anyone else saying that she is but reading it she absolutely is.

This is such a uniquely written book. It’s smart and interesting like reading an uncovered diary you’re not supposed to see.

There were some parts in the first third I found a little boring but overall it was a smooth and fascinating read. Tons of vocabulary I was unfamiliar with though.

If you were one of those kids with the Fairyology or Dragonology books, this is for you.
