Ann Patchett is a talented writer and her ability to effortlessly transition between the characters' perspectives is cool; however, I had trouble staying engaged with this novel.
Moderate: Car accident, Death of parent, Grief, and Injury/Injury detail
Minor: Stalking and Infertility

She is such a talented writer. In this novel all but the last chapter takes place during the course of one 24 hour period, in Boston and Cambridge. The novel explores parenthood, adoption, grief, failed expectations for our kids (timely for me). A friend (also adoptive mom) loaned this book to me years ago. My New Year’s resolution has been to read the books on my bookshelf- now I can finally return this one.
Moderate: Car accident, Death of parent, Grief, and Injury/Injury detail
