Absolutely adored this! I love The Witcher franchise and it was time I read the books and I did not regret it. I loved all of the short stories and that it wasn't in chronological order. But the characters is were it's really at. Geralt of Rivia is a solid, interesting main character and Yennefer is also a very good and badass character. I liked the characters in the book so much, I even liked Geralts horse, Roach. If that doesn't tell you how amazing Andrzej Sapkowski writing is, then I don't know what will. I honestly can't wait to read the next one.

I watched the Netflix show, got hooked, and now I’ve started the books. This novel is a collection of short stories establishing the world and characters, and I really enjoyed it. The only thing I had a hard time with was keeping track of characters’ names and titles (which is important because in order to understand, you need to know who has more power/authority). I did expect that though to an extent, given that it’s a collection of short stories and Geralt is on different adventures, many of them seemingly unrelated. Ultimately though, I was hooked and had a hard time putting the book down. Strong start to the series for sure.

So the Witcher Games are my favorite of all time and this was the second time I’ve read this book and it is so good but I thought the others in the series are better. It’s a shame the show didn’t give it much of the proper showing it should’ve.
