This Is What Happy Looks Like is just what I needed. After finding myself in the beginnings of a reading slump due to not enjoying the book I was reading, I decided to pick up something more lighthearted, a contemporary and so I picked up TIWHLL.

The characters were perfect for the story and each had a different personality which made for a great story. I loved the way Ellie and Graham's relationship played out. I adored Quinn - even when she was angry with Ellie - and her loving personality. Graham was the perfect kind of guy for Ellie, even though she pushed him away he (eventually) kept persisting because he knew it was the right thing to do.

The plot was enjoyable and although not being 'fast' paced, it definitely wasn't too slow. I loved reading about Henley and I loved the way Jennifer E.Smith described the town, I had a perfect, clear picture in my head. Overall, I loved This Is What Happy Looks Like and I can't wait to read more of Jennifer's writing!

*Spoilers*
I enjoyed this book, a fun beachy read. However, there were parts that Iwish could have been extended, and others shortened. I wish she would have actually met her dad. Leading up to that part was more fast paced then the rest of the book, and I was enjying that part. Until she shows up and its just like Nah maybe not. I get why she didn't but It really made me mad when the whole adventure went down the drain.if this was a series I don't know if I could continue to read it. However, Graham's Character was quite refreshing and I enjoyed his charm.

Light and cute.

I like it how the author knows how to balance the story. She keeps it real because emailing and eventually falling in love with a famous Hollywood actor by chance is already incredulous enough. She still makes it a fairytale without going overboard. I love it!

Ellie O'Neil is living a quiet, uneventful life in Maine when a misdirected e-mail changes the course of her life. Graham Larkin is one of the most popular teen actors around, but he still has all the normal teenage issues to deal with on top of all the media attention. When he starts to e-mail with Ellie he finds that he can just be himself without worrying. Then the opportunity arises for him to film in her hometown, but can this e-mail relationship survive in real life?

This is a sweet romance, perfect for lazy summer afternoons. Each chapter opens with an excerpt from their e-mail exchanges which is cute without being overbearing (thankfully she didn't write the entire novel in that form). It's a tad long, and ultimately left a bit open-ended which might frustrate some readers.

Official review to come but:
I HATED this ending. What a lame ending. Where were the sparks? The conclusion? There is no conclusion. Hated this ending.

It was good. I want to know what their future held. I don't like not knowing. Lol. But it was a very cute book.

Review to come.
