This is What Happy Looks Like by Jennifer E Smith is a young adult romance novel that revolves around two teenagers who meet by chance over email, Graham and Ellie. Graham is a famous actor and Ellie is a student from a small town. Yet, despite their differences, they fall in love with each other. I really liked this novel because it was very different from others that I have read. There were many ups and downs and twists throughout the entirety of the novel, which left me not knowing what would come next. I also really liked the characters, as they were sweet and relatable to readers. I would recommend this novel to any readers who want a relaxing, easy summer read. The author, Jennifer E Smith, also has another great book, called The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight, which I would recommend to anyone who enjoyed this novel.

Now THIS is a proper YA romance! It has no insta-love (they don't even meet for several months), no sex (they do kiss a bit), no protestations of eternal love or marriage proposals (they'd like to keep dating to see where things go), no soulmates (they feel "comfortable" because of their prior email correspondence), and they still act like teenagers instead of wanna-be adults.

What starts out as an accidental mails turns into a fullblown romance. :)

It all starts when Graham sends a mail to the wrong adress, to Ellie. She replies to it, and eventually they chat daily. They have fun, though Ellie doesn't know Graham is a super hot actor.

Then the movie comes to Ellie's town. Courtesy of Graham who found her hometown to be the perfect place for the movie (and since they needed a new location).

At first he mistakes another girl for Ellie (yeah for shirts with names on it), but he soon finds out who he really needs to go for.

I loved this book. The emails were fun and sweet, and I loved Graham and Ellie's relationship. They had some hardships, she had some secrets and financial problems, he is a famous actor and that always comes with cameras and stalkers. But in the end they figure it out.

I loved the
Spoilerbetting part though, it was a really creative way to get her the money she needed for a school course she wanted to take.

I felt sorry for Ellie and her mother, for having had so many problems, so many things gone wrong.

Graham was totally swoonworthy, he was sweet, cute and nice and tried his best to understand Ellie.

This book is told from Ellie and Graham's perspectives, switches every chapter. I liked this, that way we get both of the stories and also find out about Graham. Sometimes you just have a one-sided story, and that isn't bad, but with this kind of book you really need 2 sides.

I would really recommend this book to everyone who likes: Romance, actors, movies, a small town in the middle of Maine and like swoonworthy guys.

As soon as the paperback comes out, I will be sure to buy the book for my collection. :)

I enjoyed this more than Smith's other book (Probability of Love). I particularly enjoyed seeing things from the POV of a reluctant Hollywood star, hounded by paparazzi. All in all, a nice, well-written little romance.

SOOOOOOOOOO GOOOODDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have to read the next book!!! It was just so sweet and the protagonist was just so brave, her boyfriend, her dad, her mom, her BFF and Harvard!!! I just LOOOOOOOVE it so much!!!

It had potential, but it was just okay. Sophie Kinsella did it better with I've Got Your Number.
