Weird little manga set in a dystopia where the National Government is trying to ban books, but the libraries, which are run by the local governments, are trying to protect these same books. To do this, there is a defence force that is essentially a library military.

The premise should have worked, just because it was so weird, but the story slides into manga tropes too fast, with a plucky, but clumsy heroine who is in love with her superior and training officer. There is comedy and bumbling, but our heroine is somehow able to rise to the top in spite of all this due to her physical skills.

Really not as good as it hopes to be.

A ridiculous premise, but exactly the manga I wanted to read right now! I do wish that the censorship / cultural aspect was addressed a bit more, rather than the relationships / character stuff, but ah well!

Having worked in a library for over a decade, the premise feels like it has too many holes. I appreciate the concept that government attempts to reduce violence by monitoring media, it's a fairly large topic of conversation that crops up occasionally in the US. I just don't feel like the storyline sets it well, but again, that could be because of my more in depth experience and knowledge.
