Double dipping is not a thing I celebrate in my smutty books, that girl is going to get an infection.

Otherwise, it was hilarious in all the right places.

I could’ve really loved this story had everything not been so crude and unserious. The backstory of the mmc was a serious subject and could have such a profound impact on the whole story but it kind of felt like this was used as an excuse for him to be an absolute nightmare to the mfc. The constant aggressive anal talk I really could have done without. It wasn’t necessary to address the mmc’s inner turmoil and proclivities and actually felt kind of rapey. I also have to agree with so many of the reviewers who wondered if he hadn’t been turned down, if he would’ve ever stood his ground and actually chose the mfc. Even his big moment of finally standing up for himself felt overly self-depricating. HE WAS A CHILD, it was never his duty to save anyone but himself.

I’m so frustrated because I actually liked the characters and the plot but it just feels like the seriousness of it all was made into something lighthearted and crass and if i never have to read so much about anal again it will be worth not reading this author again.

Characters are inconsistent. Somehow a trustfund kid is working at a coffee bar why getting her pHD?  And a trust fund kid thinks wearing Lily Pulitzer is fancy?  She also didnt know details about Wuthering Heights despite her pHD being in literature but the male lead did? 🙄.  I dont know why I keep trying books by this author.

I loved the beginning of the book and the banter between Daisy & Aaron was entertaining in the first few chapters but then Aaron's jabs became downright cruel and humiliating and Daisy's responses to them were so childish. I just wished that she could stand up for herself for once and kick him to the curb. So many times, Aaron hurt her and she pathetically weeped for him instead of making him regret his actions. Initially, I could sympathize with Daisy but the way she acted got on my last nerves. Both the main characters were unlikeable and none of the side characters were sane. Especially Aaron's mother. That woman belonged in a mental facility and considering how vile Aaron's other family members were, no wonder they didn't send her to some psych ward. And though everyone in Daisy's family was caring, they were as insane for agreeing to this 31 day contract marriage. I should have DNF'ed the book after chapter 17, but I hoped that Aaron would grovel and Daisy would get some character development, but unfortunately that did not happen and this whole book was just a waste of my time. I have read a few of the author's books before and I liked them but this one was just plain bad tbh.

Once again, I have devoured an Alina Jacob's book in 24 hours.

I loved the back and forth between Daisy and Aaron at the beginning and middle of this books.
Towards the end I was getting a little tired of it. For 2 people close to their 30s they acted like teenagers still and that got a little annoying.
Their relationship? Toxic AF, but I was here for it.
The flipflopping towards the end with Aaron choosing Aurora and then Daisy left a sour taste in my mouth and actually made me wish this book didn't end in a HEA.

Over all it was a good story that kept me entertained and glued to the pages.
