I'm usually not one to read sad books, but this book manages to balance discussing the inevitability of death without being overly depressing. I even laughed a bit while reading. It's a quick read and the only reason why it's a 4.75 instead of a 5 is because the plot is predictable. Rather than thinking "What happens next?", I often thought "How will he write this part next?". Despite that, it was still a good read for someone who wants something more reflective without fighting your feelings at every page.

so. good.
a deeply emotional and beautifully written book. it was devastating as much as it was hopeful.
if you're scared of dying and death in general, this is the book for you, and it will change your whole perspective. except for the story being a bit slow sometimes, this is a perfect piece of art. adventurous, sad, sweet, calming.

A cute book. I liked the structure of one chapter for each day of the week. Not a very strong central message, but I don’t think it needs it. The best part was when the cat talked—if you like that, check out The Travelling Cat Chronies.
