I just went through a tumultuous, trippy, and albeit stressful retelling of Alice in wonderland. And you bet I’m already downloading book 2! What a trip that was.

it's not bad, but it's not that good either. i love scarlett and julian tho, the tension and the build up of their relationship is ok but i also think stephanie could do better (who knows). also scarlett is the type of sister anyone would like to have but there are scenes where she was so annoying i'm literally wincing and cringing at her.

anw, this could've been 5 regardless of scarlett's attitude, if only tella wasn't ever in the book

V fun.. completely understand all the similarities with the night circus. The magical descriptions of the caraval were gorgeous to read. And it was so easy to root for Scarlett and ultimately Julian. Def felt kinda YA, but still kept me guessing. Def thought Julian might have been Legend. And didn't see both sister Tella and Julian coming back from the dead. Am already on a waiting list to read the next one.
