2021: 2.5* - I'm surprised this book is as highly rated as it is. The character development and interactions between Sky and Holder are a bit cringe, the pacing of the book is slow and stop-start, and the storyline only picks up about halfway through (and even then it's intermittently interesting) so I bumped it up half a star. Not impressed.

2024: Having recounted the plot of this novel twice in the last few days, I'm horrified I gave this even 2.5☆. Critical thinking really does kick in post-25, kids! *facepalm*

I didn’t rate this book because. I really loved the beginning and it was very solid and I was obsessed. But this book needed to have trigger warnings because I would not have read it if it took that turn. So please look up trigger warnings. I don’t know why it made me so uncomfortable to death. And I have loved every single Colleen Hoover book I’ve ever read as a solid five stars except this book. So take that as you will.
