It’s been a long time since I couldn’t put a book down, but this one had me hooked. It will have you thinking you predicted all, but you won’t have it fully figured out.

Cute story line, easy to read

@ 23% - I was already swooning over holder. I think this was one of her original books, as the writing style did seem slightly different

felt like I saw that ending coming from a mile away tho !! the first time she said she didn’t feel anything when being touched it was like, oh I see where this is going. then by the first flashback, oooohkay. feel as if coho truly improved on the out-of-left-field aspect w her plot twists.

although I didn’t see coming = the dad killing himself tho? karen being the aunt?? [wouldn’t her dad assume/question his own family? if they ALSO just vanished randomly??]

holder was soo cute throughout the entire book tho. definitely unrealistic. but my new fictional crush for sure

beginning felt super slow to me and the MC was pretty unlikable for the first 150 pages or so but after that the book was so so emotional and amazing. the slow beginning is the only reason it’s not 5 stars 100%

You know when you start reading a book, and you're infatuated with it and the way it makes you feel? Well, it happened to me with this one. But the worst part is that the twist it has towards the middle, it's something so confusing and so unexpected, that I had to literally finish it in just one day to keep myself assured of the fact that I actually loved it, anyway. I mean, at first I thought it was basically a romantic novel, with the typical YA characters and wits. Turns out it was something more. Oh, so, so much more. Wonderfully written, with a nice twist, beautiful characters... and it also fills you with a lot of hope. Ha. Yeah. I did the thing. Btw, Dean Holder was totally a young (around 19-20 years old probably) Jared Padalecki in my head. Dream casting and whatnot.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ (audiobook)

“Fuck all the firsts, Sky. The only thing that matters to me with you are the forevers.”

Sky Davis is a girl with issues, specifically indifference to everything and everyone. She feels nothing. She sneaks boys in to her bedroom and makes out with them just to enjoy the numbness that happens at each encounter. Sky has built an Easy A reputation because of this. One day, Sky meets Holder in a grocery store line and doesn't realize just how much her life is about to change. For the first time ever, Sky feels something.

“I’ve never been swept off my feet. I don’t get butterflies. In fact the whole idea of being swooned by anyone is foreign to me… Somehow, in the course of sixty seconds, this guy has managed to swoon me, then terrify the hell out of me.”

Dean Holder is the classic bad boy, maybe reformed, with anger management issues and emotions that run more cold than hot. Mysterious, with an uncanny interest in Sky, there is absolutely more to him than meets the eye. I thoroughly enjoyed watching Sky unravel him, especially to discover the source for all his anger.

“There are some terrible secrets. Secrets which, if they ever come out, will crush Sky's world to pieces.”

Their chemistry was undeniable and the secrets were brutal. At some points it felt like the trauma reveals wouldn't end but that is classis CoHo so I kind of expected it. Regardless, I love this story. Holder is almost too perfect and the way he was there/supported Sky, it was precious.

“I’ve been looking for you my whole damn life.”
