Each one of these stories is a fascinating exploration of an idea. My favourite is probably Mountain, but each one made me question something about our civilisation, about humanity. It was a bit weird to read short stories that have their own chapters and it's definitely dense hard scifi
some very good stories and a couple kind of lame ones, but on the whole a really good collection.
A collection of short stories by an author is is rapidly becoming a must read for me.
Now not all of these worked equally for me but I found each story had something unique to say and as usual provided an interesting perspective. The cover story The Wandering Earth is worth buying this for alone it is a simply stunning and detailed story of how to avoid the sun exploding.
If you haven't read anything by this author before then please do go and read The Three Body Problem trilogy and then come back to this, if you've read that then I assume the only reason this isn't on your list is because short stories aint your hing, pick it up you might be surprised!

A brilliant collection of short stores with fascinating ideas to explore.
I would give this 4.5
Wowzer this selection of short stories is hard to describe; at times bleak, at times hopeful, at times scary, but always interesting.

I had a grand old time reading this! These stories were absurd and imaginative and interested in the collective response to changes in our lived realities. Very very fun and interesting and thought-provoking!

If your sci-fi doesn't explain the math of how the death of a gas giant slowly erodes the atmosphere I don't want it.
