dark reflective medium-paced

Brilliant novella with one of the most interesting concepts I've ever encountered. I really can't say enough about Liu Cixin. Everything I'm reading by him is sort of groundbreaking in very different ways. Huge concepts at work here and just so much fun. Or, not fun, since this is kind of pessimistic but also so true to life.

He takes on mob rule, revolution, and how time can make a serious catastrophe no longer seem to matter.

It read as rough drafts for 3 Body Problem. While I enjoyed the series, the few areas that would pull me out of the story were in full form in the short story. Characters, as a rule, were always flat and underdeveloped.

Fantastic collection of short stories from Liu Cixin. If you enjoyed the novels (Dark Forest, Death's End, etc...) then you should read this! They are varied - my favorites were the Wandering Earth, Mountain, Sun of China, Devourer (I won't spoil it, but a really great twist!), and With Her Eyes. They were all enjoyable though. Read it!

Some silly stories, some dark ones. My favorites were The Wandering Earth, Mountain, and Devourer.
