Took a turn I should’ve predicted but didn’t. Was better than I expected overall was a very quick read and enjoyable

Entertaining but too predictable and the ending is meh

No one was particularly likable. The “twist” wasn’t really a twist.

Very predictable, just ok.

My second book by this author and the second that had an absolutely absurd “plot twist”. Easy to spot and so implausible and unrealistic it’s laughable. My last book by this author. Two stars because it was entertaining in the beginning and I enjoyed the change in POVs

Another twisty thriller from Minka Kent. She truly has a tight grasp on writing fun, fast, surprising thrillers. I've enjoyed and flew through all her novels. This one wasn't my favorite, but it was still pretty good.

The story starts with Lydia and her mysterious disappearance. Newly married to Luca, Lydia goes for a hike one day and is attacked by someone on the trail. As Lydia loses consciousness she knows she'll fight for her life to get back to Luca.

Flash forward ten years and Luca is living an idyllic life with a wife, Merritt, a daughter and a son on the way. When Lydia reappears on their doorstep it's a complete shock. Where has she been for 10 years? What happened to her? Why hasn't Lydia gone to the police right away? Does she expect her husband back?

You'll get all the answers to those questions and more as this story unravels. Definitely some crazy twists in Kent's usual fashion. Overall it was entertaining but not amazingly so. If you love thrillers I encourage you to read more of Kent's offerings and enjoy the rides. 👍
