Okay I really enjoyed this book. Yes, it’s far-fetched. Yes, it’s unrealistic. Yes, it’s like watching a Lifetime movie unfold. But, nevertheless, I enjoyed reading this.

This is a very strong 3-star read for a few reasons.

I really enjoyed the setting, the coastal town, the restaurants, the place Lydia makes her home, all of it.

I also really liked our 2 FMC. I found myself rooting for both of them at different points. I enjoyed their internal monologues a lot which I can’t say for a lot of books.

The biggest plot twist I didn’t see coming *because* of the internal monologues, these bitches misguided us ON PURPOSE! and I loved that!

The writing was good, the plot was good, it was easy to read and I’m a happy girl. I’ll be checking out more of the author’s work in the future.

What would you do if someone you used to love came back from the dead? Especially if you've already moved on with your life? This thrilling tales explores these questions, and was a delight to read!

4/5 stars!

Oh what a twisty thriller that was slow to burn but scorched at its finish. I have to admit the big twist I had guessed very early on unfortunately. I was actually cooking at the time and I was thinking about the book and it almost felt like a lightbulb formed over my head like no, surely? But yes it’s one of those twists which I guessed but actually hoped I was right. The second twist I didn’t see coming at all. My mouth opened and I had to put my kindle down for a few seconds. I was literally gobsmacked. Another great thriller by Minka Kent I can’t wait to read more!

This book was easy to get into. I enjoyed how each chapter was back in forth between Lydia & Merritt. I endulged in this as an immersive reading which I’m glad I did.  I did not guess the several plot twist that happened & I think that made this book even better to me. The mastermind was not as smart as they thought at the end of the day.

Wow

I thought I had figured out what was going to happen in this book but there were so many twist and turns! I would have never guessed it would end the way it did. I could not put this down!!

Underwhelming. I listened on Audio and would have probably DNF’d otherwise. The twists worked well (if a little far fetched) but the ending was abrupt and unsatisfying
