This is a really fun book. It's not the best, but for what it tries to do? It nails it. Very funny at times, without feeling forced. Highly intriguing world and characters. The plot in my opinion was pretty good - very good in the first half - but suddenly, the last half of the story felt pretty boring / forgettable personally, possibly because it was very battle-focused, and I'm not a big battle guy. Still a great book.

not as bad as I thought it's going to be, but still wasn't my favorite.. there were some parts of the story that were interesting for me, but at some point if got boring.. I feel like I should have liked it more since it's everyone's favorite and such a classic, but its just not for me.. I found the songs annoying at some point (maybe because I was listening to it) and I didn't like the story all that much. Glad I read it, but I doubt I would have picked it up if it wasn't for the book club, and I wont read it again.

so ashamed that it took me so long, but when i had time to read, it felt like hours (/pos) its such a good adventure and so inspiring.
its sad that the dwarves werent given much personality, but its understandable. i did think there would be more yaoi but i can work with this. gandalf is such a curious creature, i feel like he sounds so much sillier and out of this world than in the movies (of what i remember)
