I could have saved myself some time and confusion by reading this 15-20 years ago, but better late than never! "APHOTUS" cuts through so much of the imperialist mythology smuggled through our traditional education, and lays down a layer of important foundational knowledge of the movements and issues that shaped (and continue to shape) US history and politics. It becomes more and more clear to me that the ongoing struggle of our time, still spanning generations, is one of capital vs the people, ie capitalism vs socialism.
