A very abridged take on American history. From Columbus to the War on Terror of the 2000s. This book was an eye opener from the very beginning. It was very informative as it told the stories of the struggles of the  poor and working class American people, the Black community, women, and the Native Americans.

My favorite takeaway from this book was that America has always had the richest people’s best interests at heart. From the drafting of the Constitution (the Federalists were all wealthy, none working class) to the 60s when the 1% were first starting to see their dramatic tax cuts. This entire book was depressing for the reason that, the American dream was fabricated by the wealthy to keep the lower and middle class groups blind and working. No president from either current party will ever change that.
