Absolutely loved both Blockade Billy and Mortality! King has a gift with the short story. I thought they had great little twists and great characters. Well written. I was very happy with them! I'm also a big baseball fan though!

Blockade Billy by Stephen King
For a Stephen King book I wasn't very impressed. Blockade Billy actually contained two stories, neither of which I liked that much and with the titular story, I pretty much worked out what was going to happen before I got to the end. Stephen King can do much much better!

this was relatively predictable for me but not in the satisfying, “i knew it,” way. while the format of an old guy telling stories works for a short, it didn’t work for me with as much dialogue as is in this.
this is my final try with King.

I feel like I can’t properly judge this one because I do not like sports. I do not like sports talk. I did not understand half of what they were saying because I do not understand (or want to understand) baseball other than the extreme basics. If I ignore the baseball aspect, I absolutely loved the ending. That was great. 5 stars for that. But sadly I’m only going to give it 3 because baseball sucks.
And for those wondering why the heck I read a baseball book if I hate baseball and sports so much… I’ve got a goal of reading every Stephen King book so I sort of had to… and this month’s BookishFirst Book Bingo had a square for “includes baseball” and I really needed that to get bingo. So here we are. I’m glad I read it. But I’m not going to read it again.
