This book started out great, I love both of the characters. Honestly I thought it was on the verge of being 5 stars after the first couple chapters. It had a unique plot and I liked the Greek cultural aspect. And Mina is funny and clever without being the typical quirky/corny in you face funny which is all too common in romance books. I loved the connection between the main characters.
Where this book fell short, and why I stopped about 2/3 in was because not enough was happening. It felt like 90% of the book were all scenes of just the 2 of them, and 50% of that felt like inner monologues and thoughts versus actual conversations. I was enjoying those inner thoughts and again there were a lot of sweet, clever and meaningful lines, but the volume and repetition is where this author lost me. I needed to be more immersed in the world and not just the couple.

OMG I wasn’t expecting this. This is my first book by this author and let me tell you as soon as I’m done with this review I’m going to start reading her other books...what a BEAUTIFUL story. It was so refreshing to see a male main character who was both masculine but also could admit to wanting love and a family. I also loved seeing the genuine friendships and different types of loves. I want to start woodcarving all of a sudden lol. Definitely recommend this!
I really enjoyed this book! The story flowed well, the characters were relatable and the story played out perfectly. I love the characters Ms Luis writes and the stories she tells. I am thankful she shares her gift of writing with us!
A very safe, slow burn romance between 2 decent human beings who, for the most part, act their age. While it was a bit long for the story (imo) and a lil cringe at times, it was a nice change of pace and I look forward to reading more Maria Luis books in the future!

I thought the Greek language would make it hard to follow but I actually enjoyed the sprinkle of Greek words.. I can now cuss in Greek and no one will know! Gamóto!
