re-read this after years (the last time I read this was in middle school btw), and I'm finally mature enough to understand that this isn't just a good fable.

ALL ANIMALS ARE EQUAL BUT SOME ARE MORE EQUAL THAN OTHERS (???!!) oh I hate those pigs.

I don't really understand the real-life event the story is based on, but many sources said it represents the Russian Revolution in 1917. more importantly, it is depicting how bad dictatorship and authoritarian regimes affect the lives of the people (or animals, in this case), and how power and authority can change someone into evil. Politics are shitty itself but when it is played by shitty leaders, then it's gonna be double shit. srry idk what i'm talking abt

+ I'm so sad for Boxer, he deserves better
