Well that was just adorably sweet. It's quintessential middle grade fantasy. And it proves that you don't need to write a 500 page tome, whole worlds can be created in 245 pages.

Kate DiCamillo and Sophie Blackall together? What’s not to love?
This was heart-piercing, humorous, endearing. A palate cleanser of a book. A classic, pure story that will sneak up and hit you right in the feels by the time you get to the last page.
A young girl, dirty, confused, shows up at a monastery unable to remember her past or how she came to be there. Meanwhile, a king has his soldiers searching the land for the subject of a prophecy that will end him— a subject that also happens to be a young girl.

Be sure to swipe through and read the gorgeous last page.
