Iāve been a huge Kate DiCamillo fan for years! From Mercy Watson, to Because of Winn Dixie, to A Tale of Despereaux, her books are heart warming and sometimes heartbreaking. The Beatryce Prophecy was no exception!
The audio was fantastically narrated, and the illustrations in the physical copy are incredible.
Thank you to Candlewick Press and Storygram Tours for the physical copy and Penguin Random House audio for the audiobook in exchange for my honest opinion.

Such a wonderful inventive story about a goat, a monk, a messenger and a girl called Beatryce.Ā
The story tells the wonderful, whimsical tale of a girl who is found near the monastery protected by a loyal goat, with no memory of where she came from only that her name is Beatryce.Ā
She can write and read in a land where women by law canāt be taught to read and thereās prophesy which stating āthere will one day be a girl child who will unseat a king and bring about great changeā but is thatĀ girl Beatryce and what danger does she face when the king discovers sheās escaped custody?

I read/listened to this because it was part of the Beehive Book Challenge in Utah. I liked parts, but parts were also kind of weird to me or I didn't understand what was going on and why.
I did appreciate the beautiful illustrations in the Kindle version.
